The ATASC General Assembly was held on January 23, 2011 at 601 Santa Monica Blvd in Santa Monica, California.
Based on the elections and the general assembly meeting the board:
Absolved the Chief Financial Officer for the 2009-2010 Report
Absolved the Board of Directors for their activities of 2009 through 2010
The election of the 5 open positions on the ATASC Board of Directors occurred according to the current Bylaws.
Candidates were to be members in good standing and who have served on an ATASC Chapter Board for a minimum of 1 year. The deadline for announcing the candidacies was 1/17/2011.
Each ATASC, TALL, OCTAA, ATASC-SD, VATAN-SC and LATAA member in good standing (i.e. membership renewed through 2010) was eligible to vote in the election either through ballot or proxy. A quorum was achieved by the members present and the proxies in hand.
The following candidates were elected by acclimatization and by a show of hands:
1. President and Chairman of the Board: Vega Sankur – 2 year term
2. President-Elect and Vice-Chairman of the board: Hafize Turgut – 2 year term
3. At-Large Board members: Tolga Yaprak and Asuman Yilmaz – 2 year term each
4. Chief Financial Officer: Hulya Kosal – 2 year term
Sevda Aleckson and Burcu Tansu are Members at Large of this board with one year left of their term.
Burcu Tansu was appointed as Corporate Secretary after the first ATASC board meeting on January 23, 2011.
