Please save the date for ATASC Board Annual General Assembly on Sunday January 21st, 2018.

Dear Members, Turkish American community and Jewish societies, you are cordially invited to an award winning documentary screening event with guest speaker Victoria Barrett, the producer of the documentary.
Association of Turkish Americans of Southern California once again proudly organizing an other enchanting event. ATASC is welcoming Victoria Barrett the producer of Desperate Hours documentary.
Desperate Hours is a documentary film which tells the virtually unknown story of Republic of Turkey (Turkiye)’s rescue efforts of thousands of Jews facing certain death in the holocaust.
The event is FREE.
Kosher dishes will be served.
All welcomed! Kindly invite family and friends.

“Fighting Defamation: Legal Considerations”

Road map to a stronger community. Our target is to empower community with stronger grassroots efforts.
Our Key note speaker is Attorney Gunay Evinch of Saltzman & Evinch, PLLC from Washington, D.C.
Attorney Evinch will talk about strategic thinking and planing for the effective results on legal grounds and more. TC Cal PAC also be assisting us for an effective event.
Topics:
1. The evolving Turkish American public advocacy system, challenges and opportunities;
2. The Sassounian Case, and the plans for lobbying the California Governor’s office.

Atasc Board cordially inviting you to ATASC General Assembly 2017
The annual Elections will be held on Sunday February 19th, 2017 between 1.30 – 4.30 pm. The venue will be announced later in January. Turkish snacks with tea and coffee will be served.
4 positions are available. Please apply to
info@atasc.org by 02/05/2017 with your resume indicating “why” you wish to be in our valuable Board, and “how” do you think we can serve more to the community, along with your 1 passort size photo. Our election commitee will select the candidates based on our current bylaws. Each candidate must be in good standing member of our association (should hold membership status with any of ATASC Chapters) with at least 1-year of BOD service at the “ATASC Boards” required for each position. Our election commitee will contact you as soon as your submission of your candidancy.
Here are the list of positions available:
– President Elect (vice President)
– Treasurer
– 2 Member at Large (MAL) (one of the MAL positions will serve as the Secretary position based on the Board decision. New Board meets immediately after followed by the general assembly.
Please join us on 02/19/17. Let us share how successfully we accomplished our goals and beyond.
